Tiger Water Life

Bestowing Life to the Wild!

Mar 14, 2022

The world is facing a lot of environmental issues and threats. One of the significant environmental threats is the extinction of many animal species like Tigers. It is estimated that there are only 3,200 tigers left in the world. Their population is decreasing at a rapid rate, making them an endangered species. They are hunted for their skins, bones, and teeth and have lost their natural habitat due to deforestation, agriculture, and urbanization. A lot has been done by organizations worldwide to save tigers from extinction. Key Management Group Inc. is one such organization that focuses on the well-being of the conserved tigers.

Tiger Water Life (TWL) is a CSR initiative by KMG in collaboration with Tiger Calls Group – a social media group focused on helping tigers by installing solar water pumps. Tiger Water Life was initiated by Pawan Jaidka, Rajeev Grover and Paramdeep S Ghumman. This program aims to install solar water pumps that enable sufficient water supply for the tigers and operates in the Central part of India. Tiger Calls Group has installed 20 solar water pumps so far with donations from its members. They are even planning to install 5 solar-powered water pumps for the tiger conservation project in Brahmapuri, which falls under Maharashtra’s tiger capital of Chandrapur. Through this initiative, KMG has gladly sponsored 2 solar water pumps so far, which serves the tigers’ welfare. The first pump donated by KMG was installed in Tipeshwar, Maregaon Meadow in Maharashtra. The second solar pump was installed in Kanha, Sarhi Zone in Madhya Pradesh. This year KMG is willing to provide funding for two more solar water pumps.

This campaign ensures the natural flow of water into streams, creeks and other water bodies so that the tigers do not have to bear the brunt of water scarcity in the summer months. The installation of the solar water pumps also facilitates pumping out water which eventually fills up the waterbodies, quenching the wild tigers’ and providing them with sufficient drinking water. Moreover, Tiger Water Life has been a great success in increasing prey-base for tigers. This initiative has opened up an excellent opportunity for significant concerns to look after the well-being of the tiger population.
